LA COMPAGNIE / THE COMPANY

La Compagnie Yann Lheureux, créée en 1994, est à présent bien ancrée dans le paysage chorégraphique national et international. Son chorégraphe, poursuit son engagement qui le mène à investir différents territoires. En tissant des liens étroits avec des artistes et opérateurs issus d’autres pays (Espagne, Allemagne, Canada, Maroc, Tunisie, Corée, océan Indien, Afrique du Sud…), d’autres horizons artistiques (théâtre, vidéo, multimédia…), pour des temps de recherches et de créations.

 

En juin 2003, la compagnie s’implante à « l’Atelier » (lieu de résidence), situé au centre ville de Montpellier. Yann Lheureux et sa compagnie poursuivent une recherche croisant les écritures (selon les médias en présence et selon la forme d’écriture improvisée ou composée) et questionnent la notion de territoire. Cette notion est d’ailleurs déclinée au travers de la recherche artistique et de la structuration de la compagnie. Le territoire pose d’emblée la notion de limites de champs d’observation.

 

Par le biais de tous les éléments scéniques à disposition, avec en premier lieu le corps qui reste déterminant, le travail chorégraphique permet avec force de créer des univers sensibles, des territoires singuliers, des mondes nouveaux… Chaque création de la compagnie est une nouvelle tentative de liens et de porosité entre différents territoires artistiques.

 

Questionner l’art ni plus ni moins à chaque création : quel statut pour le spectateur, l’artiste, quelle place pour le corps qui reste déterminant… Revenir à des questions primordiales et les mettre en scène de façon essentielle. C’est l’exigence que nous plaçons dans les différents projets de créations.

 

 

The Yann Lheureux Company was created in 1994 and is now well established on the choreographic scene, both nationally and internationally. The choreographer continues to pursue his commitment, leading him to explore a number of different territories. By making connections with artists from other countries (Spain, South Africa, Germany, Tunisia, the Indian Ocean, etc.) and with other artistic horizons (theater, video, multimedia, etc.) for performances, teaching, research and creation, Yann Lheureux and his Company are pursuing their research in cross-composition (use of different medias and forms of writing, improvised or composed) and questioning the notion of territory.
The latter is present through the Company’s structure and artistic research. Territory instantly brings to mind the idea of limits in the field of observation. Using a comprehensive array of scenic elements, first and foremost the body and emotions, the choreographic work can create a sensitive universe, unique territories and open up new worlds. Each new composition is a fresh attempt by the Company to forge connections and nurture porosity between different artistic territories.
Calling art into question, no more, no less, upon each new production: questioning the status of the spectator, the artist, and the place of the body, which is always a determining factor; coming back to central issues and putting them in the spotlight in an essential way. These are the demands we place on each of our new creative projects.

YANN LHEUREUX

Yann Lheureux débute sa carrière de danseur en 1986, en créant des spectacles de rue de danse Hip-Hop. Il obtient en 1987 et 1988, le « Premier prix international solo » (Turin et Béthune) lors des Rencontres Chorégraphiques de la Fédération Française de Danse. Diplômé en Body Mind Centering (Amberst / USA), Yann Lheureux intervient en tant que formateur et dirige des stages auprès de nombreux publics, en France et à l’étranger.
De 1990 à 1994, il travaille dans les compagnies Monbin Danse, Sylvie Deluz, M.Dooge, C.Sapin, Didier Théron. Cette même année, la Compagnie Yann Lheureux est créée à Montpellier.
De 1995 à 1998, il danse avec Philippe Saire, Hervé Diasnas… Lors de performances, il danse avec Marc Thomkins, Urs Stauffer, Vera Mantero, Thierry Bac, Mathilde Monnier, Julyen Hamilton, Barre Philips,... En juin 2003, la Compagnie investit l’Atelier à Montpellier : un lieu de création, de diffusion chorégraphique, de recherche et d’enseignement. Cette implantation amorce sa structuration ainsi que le questionnement artistique de Yann Lheureux concernant les croisements d’écriture et la notion de territoire. Un thème qui sera dès lors décliné sous différentes formes et dans toutes ses créations. Depuis, il a conçu et porté au public de nombreuses pièces, tant en France qu’à l’étranger.


Yann Lheureux begins its dancer’s career in 1986, by creating street shows of dance Hip-hop. He obtains in 1987 and 1988, the « solo international First prize « (Turin and Béthune) during the Choreographic Meetings of the French Federation of Dance. Awarded a diploma in Body Mind Centering (Amberst / USA), Yann Lheureux intervenes as trainer and manages training courses with numerous public, in France and abroad.
From 1990 till 1994, he works in the Companies Monbin Danse, Sylvie Deluz, M.Dooge, C.Sapin, Didier Théron. The same year, the Company Yann Lheureux is created in Montpelier.
From 1995 till 1998, he dances with Philippe Saire, Hervé Diasnas … During performances, he dances with Marc Thomkins, Urs Stauffer, Vera Mantero, Thierry Bac, Mathilde Monnier, Julien Hamilton, Bar Philips... In June, 2003, the Company invests the Atelier in Montpelier: a place of creation, choreographic distribution, research and education. This setting-up begins its structuralization as well as the artistic questioning of Yann Lheureux concerning the crossings of writing and the notion of territory. A theme which will be declined from then on under various forms and in all his creations. Since, he conceived and carried to the public of numerous pieces, both in France and in the International.
